Cortney Skinner's artwork appears on the covers and inside of paperbacks, hardcovers, magazines, collectible card games and more recently in movies. His work covers an extensive range of subjects including science fiction, fantasy, history, children's books and educational texts. He has created artworks in a variety of styles and media ranging from realistically, highly-rendered historic portraits to fun, retro cartoons as well as sculptural renditions of all sorts of people, creatures, objects and characters.

Beginning his career in the traditional media of pencil, pen and paint, he added pixels to his palette at the beginning of the digital age and continues to peregrinate amongst those paraphernalia as his profession requires.

Nestled comfortably in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Cortney shares life and abode with writer Elizabeth Massie.
